P.S. I notice that I titled this video “Why I eat a LOW FAT raw food diet,” not “Why I eat a raw food diet”. There is a HUGE difference.

Just because someone eats all raw foods, doesn’t mean they’re eating a healthy diet. In fact, MOST raw foodists do NOT eat a healthy raw food diet!

There are certain rules that you must follow to be successful on a raw vegan diet. Eating the correct foods in the correct amounts is the only way you’ll be able to get enough calories AND nutrients and ward off cravings for good.

  9. Awesome info. Thank you! I have been raw for about a month and a half and suffered from chronic fatigue as well. I would totally claw my eyes open while driving, as well. I thought I was the only one who did that! I am totally cured of that ailment, now, and it feels so amazing to have so much energy and to sleep so soundly at night. I’m loving watching all of your videos. Thanks!

  11. I am 41 and I was a vegan for long and still was carrying horrible fat around my belly and my belt even thouht I was swimming about 10 hours a week. I was experiencing chronic sinusitis since very young… I (still) have a very bad acne issue on my back and I hope it will slowly get better and better. I still have tendonitis at my right shoulder because of swimming… I have a huuuuge appetite and I need crazy big meals to get satisfied (according to most of my friends and family, the amount I eat is just crazy). With a raw diet I can eat as much as I want to. I don’t have sinusitis anymore. My belt fat is gone and I feel much more energy and joy and courage. My sleep is better and my mind is clear during the day.

  12. Hi Swayze,
I went raw at the beginning of this year to overcome the side effects of going the allopathic route, surgery, chemo and radiation after being diagnosed with locally advanced triple negative inflammatory breast cancer and secondary in the auxiliary lymph nodes late 2009 I was none the wiser and and only learnt later about nutrition and immune system after being railroaded into treatment very quickly in 2010. My digestion was hit hard and still is suffering but I’m hoping by staying raw, my body although a long way to go will have the most fighting chance and that my immunity will repair and digestion, leaky gut, dysbosis will heal over time and give me in favour of the statistics only 50% survive over 5 years the kind of Cancer I got and being only 40 with 3 children, husband and a grandchild I want to be here to see them all grow up. The bonus is I LOVE RAW and the amazing energy I get with it and exercise and weights have become part of my life now.
thankyou for all your inspirational videos, I feel like I am not alone .

That’s wonderful, Jenny! Good luck to you in your recovery. :)

  13. I am curious as to what else you ate that day. It isn’t necessarily because of your raw food.

  14. Hi Swayze,

I have taken your lessons by heart and started my qwest to raw diet this week. I am only on it for a few days for breakfast and lunch, and today, after I drank a shake with fresh made almond milk, Banaba and respberry, I experience really bad stomachache. It is discouraging. Any advice?

  15. Hi Swayze!
Nice video, a lot of people could benefit from changing their diet just like you!
I have one question though. You mentioned that using shampoos with less chemicals made your hair nicer and I was wondering what specific brand you used? I’ve stopped putting processed stuff into my body and now I want to stop putting it on myself as well!
    Thanks,
    -Cortney

I absolutely LOVE Tonya Zavasta’s shampoo and conditioner (www.beautifulonraw.com). I’ve been using it for several months now and it’s the best S&C set I’ve ever used. It washes out easily, yet keeps my hair soft and clean-looking. And I don’t even use it every day!

The only thing I don’t care for is the smell, but that’s just me. I’m used to it now and don’t even notice it anymore. :)

  16. Why I went raw 11/11:
Grossly overweight. My body fat% was at the Obese level. My whole body was swollen. Poor sleep. Facial pre-cancer lesions that continuously erupted. Eye problems: vision with glasses was blurred, sensitivity to low light/high light. Restless Leg Syndrome. High coffee drinker. Nails were brittle. Skin dry and cracking. Dental issues. Mood issues. I was a mess!

Now a whole different story since going raw organic vegan, then LFRV, now on day 20 of a 92 day juice feast. Let’s just say I am a new person with not only none of the above health issues, but a reduction in body fat from 47% to 38% in a short time – shooting for 28%. My weight is in the high 120’s down from 175. I am off coffee!

  23. Hi Swayze! Thanks for another great video! Lately, I have been having pain in my elbow & hip. I have been diagnosed w/’tennis elbow’ & ‘ hip bursitis’ from overuse of exercise. I’m on Day 23 of 811rv pgm after a 1 1/2 yr. transition from cooked vegan. I ran across info relating Nightshade fruits & vegs with joint pain. I eat plenty of tomatoes & sweet peppers (no spices). Have you ever heard of this correlation? Or, met anyone that cured their joint pain by eliminating nightshade foods?
