[..YouTube..] Thank you for the video. Most of time I can not find in Las Vegas during the winter organic grapes, persimmons, papaya (which is GMO), peaches… Do you think that consuming not organic fruits is smart recommendation?

[..YouTube..] @VeganExcellence Yes, I do. If you can’t get organic, conventionally grown fresh produce is the next best choice. Plus, the quality of the produce (taste and ripeness) is more important than the organic label.

[..YouTube..] In France it’s getting hard for me to eat fruits T.T So I eat more veggies and nuts :/

[..YouTube..] @FitOnRaw Thanks, If that is true then you are unusual. Usually people who try this diet long enough start looking very skinny and spacey

Thanks Swayze
There are also guavas available now on the West Coast – the tropical guavas that are yellow on the outside and pink on the inside. I just tried a white guava that you can eat like jicama, but doesn’t taste as sweet as the yellow ones – probably will wait to eat the others when they are softer. I also LOVE white sapotes and can get them here in San Diego from a tropical fruit farm and don’t forget about fresh dates.
The cherimoyas are available here, too!
There are some wonderful varieties of pears to try : Bosc, D’Anjou, Barlett, Red Barlett, Comice (I read that there are actually 3,000 varieties of pears grown around the world – http://www.usapears.com/…/Pears%20and%20Varieties.aspx
I don’t usually see organic grapes this time of year at my co-op.
I also forgot about kiwis and there are 2 varieties green and golden and I read that eating one a day is a substitute for taking aspirin (if someone needs to do that, it is comparable).
I have to see about getting a pineapple, as it has been a long time and thanks for the tips on finding a good one, as I will check that out at my co-op. I will also look for papaya, as I haven’t had any in a long time – what variety do you recommend as the sweetest, as I know there are more then one and what is the color of the skin?
Namaste!

I completely forgot about fresh dates! I ordered some Khadrawy from Bautista Farms this fall and I’m still using them up!
As far as pineapple goes, I just buy whatever is available in the store. Most of the time it’s Dole or the Monte Gold Extra Sweet.

[..YouTube..] @rndmbrowser I don’t know about that. What about Doug Graham, Don Bennett, Ellen Livingston, Frederic Patenaude, Roger Haeske, Freelea, Harley Johnstone, Michael Arnstein, and Chris Kendall? None of them look “skinny and spacey” to me. I’ve noticed that it’s usually the raw foodists who are eating too much fat and not enough fruit who look like that.
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @Boulet722 I would recommend choosing cooked carbohydrate options (e.g. brown rice, sweet potatoes, etc.) instead of nuts if you don’t have access to enough quality fruit.
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] You’re getting me wanting to try pineapple again. I was put off before when it was stinging my mouth after eating 1/3 of it. I will have to watch your How To Choose A Ripe Pineapple video. Btw, lemon or orange juice is nice in banana smoothies, too (for me anyway).
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @natureasintended your How To Pick A Ripe Pineapple video, rather.

Swayze, thank you for your nice videos. So good info! Here in Greece right now, there is not much variety. There is bananas, apples, oranges, mandarines, conventionally grown medjool dates(are they good for eating every day, I can’t get them organic, not available). No frozen fruit, mango and pineapple, very bad quality. So my variety isn,t huge, what do you think? By the way, veggies and greens I get a plenty.

Dates are fine, but even fresh should be limited to a degree. I think that’s pretty good variety for the winter months. I would focus on eating enough calories, getting in your greens, and limiting your fat intake.

[..YouTube..] @FitOnRaw Almost all of those you mentioned belong to one or more of the following categories: are not doing well at all, are not strict raw vegans, their reputation and finance depend on marketing the diet, or not being completely honest. I will take just one example because I don’t have time. Don Bennett followed 811 exactly including the instruction of not to supplement. He developed a life threatening condition due to deficiency and had eventually to supplement to stay alive.
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @rndmbrowser I thought you were talking about eating a low fat, high fruit raw vegan diet, not specifically 80/10/10. Like Don and many others, I don’t follow 811rv since I consume some seaweeds, some condiments like scallions, and some supplements like B12.
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @FitOnRaw Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. Could you please tell us exactly what do you take as a b12 supplement and how often? I tried many brands, and forms. The effect of all of them was momentary. Only the injections lasted long enough, but they are risky and I would never take them again.
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @rndmbrowser I don’t go by feeling. I honestly can’t tell a difference taking B12 versus the 3+ years that I didn’t take it. What I go by is test results. Get tested, see if you need to supplement, take a sublingual methylcobalamin, and get tested again to see if it actually works.

[..YouTube..] When I buy not organic fruits I feel like I am earth polluter.

[..YouTube..] @Boulet722 i am pritty active all year round. oftern spending alot of time outside both at work and after..i go running every two or three days. when i stick to high carb low fat – cooked or raw my energy levels are high and stable all day/year. when its cold sometimes saled’s at night just dont feel like ‘enough’. this oftern happens if i havn’t had enough cals though out the day – the colder it is the more you need. when this happens i look to…
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @Boulet722 2) ….. potato, sweet potato, yams, parsnips, brown rice, wild long grain rice, millet… i usually turn to this opion when i simply havn’t got enough in during the day!

[..YouTube..] @jammatoonarmy with bananas =/
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @Boulet722 i love mixing citrus fruit with bananas…its really what keeps me raw. i ither throw it all in a blender, or mash up 10/15 bananas and then juice some citrus in and mix. right now, im loving lime!! very tasty!! ~ also when i eat it this way, as opposed to just peeling and eating the bananas, any issues with mono meals of fruit ‘causing’ me to be cold just dont come up…its the same with saled dressing. a little more prep does wounders fro me when its cold! ~ james
[Reply]
[..YouTube..] @jammatoonarmy Great! I’ll try this tomorrow! thanks you a lot

I began my raw organic eating program the week before Thanksgiving. I have had no problem finding an abundance of fruit and vegies at my local co-op. All organic and all delicious. Most of what you mentioned I have found and have incorporated into my eating program. I have a green smoothie and a fruit based smoothie each day and then vegies/fruits and some nuts/seeds during the day. I love to sprout and even my cats enjoy eating what I grow.
It is not difficult to eat raw during the winter at all. The comfort of cooked food is a killer.
Thanks for this video. I am spreading it around to all my raw vegan friends.
