How I Eradicated All My Skin Issues With the Power of Raw Foods

Whenever I post a new video, I always get at least a handful of comments on how nice my skin looks.

Thank you so much! :)

But the truth is, my skin wasn’t always so clear and smooth…

How I Went From Chicken Skin and Acne to Clear & Smooth Skin

I forgot to mention that I also struggled with dry and oily skin (depending upon the time of year). I never could have bangs because the oil and sweat (yes, I used sweat A LOT too) would just weigh them down.

As you can see, this is no longer an issue for me. I love my bangs! :D

[..YouTube..] Has anyone linked to dairy for acne? Even at 43 years old, pizza seems to cause “pizza face” for me. If I stay on mainly fruits and vegetables and water, it clears up.

[..YouTube..] @FitOnRaw Robinson reported that among 1,925 patients who kept a food diary, the majority implicated milk in acne flares [6]. In a previous study of US female nurses who reported their high school diet and the prevalence of physician-diagnosed severe teenage acne, we found a positive association with intake of total and skim milk [7]

[..YouTube..] Urg, I got hungry after a party last night and ate 2 left over veggie burgers. In the rush beforehand, I hadn’t prepared enough smoothies. As a result, I’ve got a few negative health effects at the moment, so I am really envying your beautiful, soft, clear skin now…and also wanting to try more so to keep to fresh. whole foods in future. I absolutely love the amazing benefits of fruits and tender, leafy greens. Thank you for all your inspiration and research :-)

[..YouTube..] @natureasintended You’re very welcome! A little tip…bring some easy to eat snacks with you when you go to social events, like grapes, pre-peeled clementines, dates, or cherry tomatoes.

[..YouTube..] @FitOnRaw Wonderful idea. So simple yet I hadn’t considered it, since I’d been busy enjoying my smoothies so much…until they’d gone :| Hopefully also these simple fruit snack ideas will be an inspiration and temptation to others. Thank you! :)

I’ve been eating a 80 10 10 diet for almost two years and I still am struggling with a lot of acne on my back and some kinda psoriasis around my mouth (very dry itchy skin with small scaly white pieces…) My hair skin also is very dry and scaly. I have a dandruff problem that comes and go… Eating a low fat high fruit raw vegan diet did not change any of these problems for me…

[..YouTube..] Wow. I have “chicken skin” on my upper arms too, and something similar to it on my lower back. Not very bad though, it doesn’t draw me alot of attention, but still annoying. Didn’t know it was diet related. Keep the videos coming!

You do look fantastic! I wish I had beautiful skin like you. I have a lot of moles on my upper body. Any advise on that?

Thank you so much! No advice on the moles, but some people have said that they saw a reduction after going raw. That hasn’t been my experience, though.

Hi and thank you for all your work on the site and blog! I have been raw vegan for 8 months and have been doing everything right as far as I know: no allergens, food combination, sunshine, fresh air, exercise, you name it. But I now have acne and my tongue seems to be permanently coated. Any advice, please? Keep up the good work! Richie

Swayze Reply:

Richie,

This could be a result of too much fatty foods like nuts and seeds in the diet.

Thank you for the response! I am doing it all meticulously right though, so my fat intake is perfect for my body weight. This is an utter mystery. My dermatologist suggests a course of some scary antibiotic which can affect bone marrow and produce other nasty side-effects. I am hoping to correct this the natural way, but nothing is working thus far. I have no bad stress in my life, so I don’t see how it can be stress-related either. Face products are not really solving the problem, merely treating it. My skin remains oily and blemished with pimples just under the surface which eventually break through. Uuuggghhh.

Hi Richie,

My theory is that you (and me because I have the same problem) have to eliminate so much toxines that it takes a while to get rid of it all…

After almost two years of LFRV diet I was only getting a little better… But once I eat something wrong, even a very very small amount like a few olives in oil or something I imediately have new pimples on the back… Some say it’s not food related, some say it’s hormones, some say it’s food, some say it’s stress …. Some say it’s “just like that” … My girlfriend say she doesn’t care… So I decided to live with it. But, well, you know, sometime …
