My First Visit to a Raw Food Restaurant (Part II)

As promised, here’s Part II of my experience at my very first raw food restaurant.

As grand as it was being in Ventura with my family, it’s so great to be back at home and back to eating low fat raw vegan fare.  I actually gained almost 5 pounds from all the fatty, salty raw foods!!!

Go raw and be fit,

Swayze

P.S. The mainstream, “Hollywood”, fat and salt-crazed raw food gurus may be afraid of a little (or a lot) of fruit, but I’m sure not!

If you’re not either (and you really shouldn’t be), make sure and check out my recipe book:

“Low Fat, Fruit Filled, High Fun Raw Recipes”

Delicious and Healthy Raw Vegan Favorites for Every Meal

“Low Fat, Fruit Filled, High Fun Raw Recipes” is a collection of over 35 raw recipes from several low fat, fruit lovin’ raw vegans.  All recipes are salt, spice, and garlic-free…and low fat, of course! :D

[..YouTube..] I would imagine that not many people ever order the fruit plate…..that most people don’t want fruit when they go there.

[..YouTube..] I think the raw food restaurants are good for people who are still in transition to raw foods and not really hard core raw fooders and people on 80-10-10 like yourself who have trained their bodies for low tolerance of fat i can imagine your digestive system not used to that 60 to 70% fat in a dish. ravendream33 is right, people who go to the raw food place are the people who go for cooked food stimulation and will most likely not order fruits.

[..YouTube..] When I go to a raw food joint, I just get a vegetable juice as they are always ‘ripe’.

Everything else is too oily, salty, hard to digest and or unripe. I guess thats why they call it ‘transitional food’.

By eating fruit as our staple, our body quickly tells us what is food and what is entertainment.

Nice video.

[..YouTube..] @durianriders “By eating fruit as our staple, our body quickly tells us what is food and what is entertainment.”

So true. The food was definitely entertaining to the senses, but certainly not healthy for the body. But as long as enough fruit is consumed, this really doesn’t matter.

In fact, it’s a good test. If you can go to a raw restaurant and not salivate at the thought of oily kale chips, fatty avocado sandwichs or salty soups, then you’ve eaten enough fruit. :)

[..YouTube..] We have a raw food restaurant here in Portland, OR and the food is great! But it’s so expensive that it’s not practical. My fiance and I have been vegan for over a year and are considering making the move to raw. We’re going to get a food processor! YAY! Your videos are inspiring. Keep it up.
