Living It Up in Ventura
As I mentioned two weeks ago, I am spending my week in beautiful Ventura, California with my sister, brother-in-law, and little niece.
And really, beautiful doesn’t do this place justice. I honestly cannot describe to you how wonderful it is. Perfect temperature, lots of sunshine, gorgeous scenery, lovely people, and lots of fruit (there’s a farmer’s market right next door to where I’m staying!!!)
Here’s a photo I took with my phone…

My little niece showing off the view
…and that still isn’t good enough.
Needless to say, I am thoroughly enjoying myself. Be sure to check out the Fit On Raw Facebook Page for more updates and pics of my stay in Ventura.

Swayze – I’ve been eating fruit in the mornings for 11 or 12 years now, and fruit for lunch as well for over a year. But by evening time almost every day I just don’t seem to want any more fruit and usually wind up eating veggie soup, stir fry, a veggie sandwich, or something like that along with a salad. I’ve made it a week at a time all-raw, but then I inevitably cave in to cooked food again. As I said, two meals a day of fruit is no problem at all, I don’t even crave anything else besides fruit.
So, should I just continue to go with the flow until I finally don’t crave cooked food for supper, or should I try to force it and hope for the best? I’m 58, so yeah, I’ve had a lot more years of SAD to overcome. I’m just not sure that 100% raw is doable for me, though I do want it to be! I feel like such a weakling sometimes!

Hi Laurie,
You’re definitely not a weakling. You just need to eat more fruit for breakfast and lunch and start your dinner with a fruit meal. Then, once you’ve eaten your fruit, you can have your stir fry, veggie soup, etc. Once you are getting enough calories from sweet fruit, your desire for cooked food will dramatically decline.

OK, thanks, Swayze! I’ll just take all your advice, and try not to get discouraged!
Great explanation and advice! I really like your approach : D
