Too Much Fruit On a Low Fat Raw Diet?!
“Wow, that’s a lot of fruit! Isn’t that too much? How can you possibly eat all that?!”
These are just some of the comments I receive (A LOT!) about eating a low fat raw vegan diet, so I thought I’d spend a few moments talking about the “too much fruit” issue in a video.
I think the quality in this one turned out much better. Enjoy!
Go raw and be fit,
Swayze
P.S. If enough people express interest, I’ll type up a short summary of what is covered in the video for those of you who are too lazy don’t have time to watch.

Thanks Swayze.
I like the videos on occasion. It’s nice to see the face and personality behind the blog once in a while.
I eat from 10-12 bananas a day and it is freeing not worrying about what I’m going to eat and how many calories I’m consuming. I know they’re always there adn it’s so easy. The challenge is keeping my supply up and having them always be in various stages of ripenness. It was good to see you let your bananas get as ripe as I do.
I like watching the videos and seeing a person behind the words
You are fun to watch!
Why no veggies other than greens?

I do eat other vegetables besides greens, such as celery, carrots, and broccoli, but the emphasis is on tender, leafy greens. I also eat lots of non-sweet fruits like zucchini and cucumber.
I loved watching your video Swayze! It’s so true about everything being relative. That’s a concept that is difficult for people to get for some reason!
The videos are great. Thank you so much for the info.
I do not mind a video, but 8 mins of video I would rather be able to scan read a page and get the relevant information that is new to me.
I completly agree with everything you said in your video! People at work always comment on how much fruit I eat. I’ll have 1.5 melons for lunch with some berries and they are so amazed to see that I can eat so much. What bothers me is that they are saying that as they are scarfing down 2 slices of greasy pizza!
I really enjoy watching your videos, and this was a great addition! Your fun personality really comes through. It’s so wonderful that we get to eat so much food eating this way – I totally love it too. I’ve adjusted, and 10 bananas seems like a normal lunch to me now. It’s so nice to feel really full and satisfied from my food, but not heavy or weighed down. Thanks Swayze!
P.S. I’m working on the last of my persimmons too – they’re one of my top favorite fruits! It’s been a good winter.

Thanks for all the feedback and lovely compliments, guys!
Hey Swayze,
I cannot remember what post it was I commented on about the taste Of durian, well after your reply I thought I might revisit the fruit again and in doing so I realized I had got the fruit Jackfruit mixed up with Durian.
Now I understand why it is considered good eating I had a right ole pig out on it

What a great video Swayze! Really straight to the point – and you talked about one of the most important things (not only for succeeding on this diet, but I guess for everything in life): concentrating on the good things instead of worrying about the bad things!
Thanks for posting that! Already excited about what will come next….
Bye
Kathrin

[..YouTube..] Great video! =)
[..YouTube..] Thanks, so glad you enjoyed it!
I just saw this video…good stuff! Your vids are great! I’m in awe of all the delish fruit we can eat, too. My persimmons are gone but pointing out yours was cute…

Yea, they’re all gone now and I didn’t even get the last of ‘em…my dog did!
[..YouTube..] Thanks Swayze! I like a lot your explanation.
[..YouTube..] Just wondering how many years have you been on the low fat raw diet? Thanks
[..YouTube..] @mbassadorjr About 99% for just over two years
[..YouTube..] I get full after 1-2 bananas. How are you able to eat 8 in one sitting without being miserably full?
[..YouTube..] @gillygirlva Once you give your stomach time to adjust to the extra volume, it isn’t difficult at all. Today, I can’t imagine eating any other way. I can finally feel completely satisfied after a meal without feeling bloated, nauseated and lethargic.
[..YouTube..] Cool great video.. you seem very happy and balanced. Do you eat any other fruit besides banana?
I love bananas even before I went raw I ate 3-4 a day.. I still eat eggs some days.. I like banana omelet .. that is an omelet on chopped banana with raw agava necta over the top! Scrummy:)
[..YouTube..] @teganjames Well, thank you!
Yes, I eat more fruit than just bananas — depending upon what is in season at the time — but bananas are my staple due to availability, caloric density, and cost. If I had my druthers, I would live on peaches and mangoes forever.
[..YouTube..] I eat fruit at breakfast and vegetables for lunch.
1 orange, 1 apple, 1 banana, 1 bowl of instant oats and 1 bowl of corn flakes, 600ml of unsweetened soya milk and two slices of wholemeal toast.
That is my breakfast.
For lunch I eat salad sandwiches and cooked vegetables(lunch is varied but I always eat some salad).
[..YouTube..] Sometimes I will eat grapes for breakfast too but they are expensive so really they are a treat for me.
I also eat nuts(my fav. is peanuts).
But I think eating 10 bananas at a time is extreme.
[..YouTube..] did you lose any weight starting this diet? if so how much?
[..YouTube..] @faintsunrise Yes, I lost about 15lbs, 1/3 of which came off in the first week or so (mostly water weight, of course).
[..YouTube..] Thanks for this video! It has the information I REALLY needed to hear.
[..YouTube..] I have to agree with you, althou i have never tried eating all those bannanas, i actually bought a whole box just recently and there all gone..of which my kids and husband ate the most..this is great you have shared this..now i feel confident about eating more fruit.
[..YouTube..] @Mrlandroverful Yes, never fear the fruit!
[..YouTube..] This was the first video of yours which I stumbled upon accidentally. I was doing a Google search trying to find out if it’s possible to eat too much fruit, because I was worried that I was eating too many oranges (like 4 a day). This video was really a revelation to me, as someone who comes from a cooked food background. I would never have thought one could get away with eating that many bananas! Fruit is really going to help me transition to raw food, I love it!
[..YouTube..] @WannabeKiwiBoy Awesome, another converted fruit lover! Mission accomplished.
